KARA CHAN is a New York based freelance artist who has performed in Mark Morris’ The Hard Nut at BAM and at the Joyce Theatre with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. Well versed in classical and modern styles, Kara has performed masterpieces by José Limon, Murray Louis, Merce Cunningham, and Jerome Robbins. Kara graduated with a BFA from The Juilliard School in 2015 and since then has worked professionally with the Merce Cunningham Trust, MorDance, Trainor Dance, Kathryn Posin Dance Company, Gleich Dances, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, Larry Keigwin, and Taylor Drury. She has had the privilege of performing at notable venues including Lincoln Center, Park Avenue Armory, Guggenheim Museum, 92nd Street Y, Joe’s Pub, among many others. She is an alumna of the Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Program, Springboard Danse Montreal, and Youth America Grand Prix. She is currently dancing with Twyla Tharp's company.
